Dating Animals

I don't trust a man who doesn't like dogs.
    I worry they don't value loyalty
          or exuberance
               and are ruled by fear

I don't trust a man who doesn't like cats
     I worry they don't value independence
           or mystery
                and are ruled by rules

I don't trust a man who doesn't like me
      I worry they don't value dogs or cats.
